TWO FOUNDERS. ONE SHARED VISION.

The People and Purpose Behind Precision Works

Omar Elmi & Zeinab Ali
Co-Founders, Precision Works
Ottawa, Canada

For too many adults with developmental disabilities, the transition from education to employment remains uncertain. Skills and potential are not always matched by opportunities to develop, demonstrate and apply them.

We founded Precision Works to help address that gap.

We are Omar Elmi and Zeinab Ali, husband and wife and co-founders of Precision Works, an Ottawa-based organization dedicated to vocational training and employment preparation.

Omar Elmi, entrepreneur and founder of DIVERTEK Solutions, brings years of experience in information technology, technical education and business development.

Zeinab Ali brings a background in human resource management and leads key areas of organizational strategy, operations, partnership development and program planning.

Together, our experience informs how we design and deliver Precision Works programs, with practical learning, individual support and workplace preparation at their core.

The curriculum brings together computer and IT skills, digital literacy, workplace communication and simulated work environments, including opportunities to practise customer service and inventory management.

Preparing someone for employment and creating a pathway into employment are not the same thing.

That is why our vision includes building relationships with families, educators, employers and community organizations to help connect training with opportunities beyond the classroom.

We know that earning the trust of families, participants and community partners requires more than a clear mission. It requires consistent program quality, thoughtful support and accountability in how we deliver on our commitments.

Our success will not be defined by enrollment numbers alone, but by how well we prepare participants for the opportunities and responsibilities that lie beyond our classrooms.

THE PRECISION WORKS APPROACH

Start with strengths.
Build from there.

Everyone’s next step looks different. We make room for that.

Some learners want to send an email independently. Others want to assemble a computer, practise workplace routines or prepare for a first job. We turn those goals into manageable steps, with clear instruction and time to practise.

01 / Personal

One-to-one or small-group learning shaped by individual interests and support needs.

02 / Practical

Real equipment, visual checklists and repeated practice that connects to everyday life.

03 / Purposeful

Observable progress, regular reviews and gradually reduced support.

LEARNING YOU CAN PUT TO USE

Show it.
Try it.
Make it your own.

We demonstrate each task, practise together and repeat it at the learner’s pace. As confidence grows, we reduce prompts and help participants apply their skills in new situations.

Visual instructions. Extra processing time. Breaks. Agreed accommodations are part of learning independently.

Adults age 18+ with developmental disabilities or related support needs who may benefit from structured, practical instruction. Participation depends on individual goals, program fit, safety, available staffing and support needs.

Supports may include demonstrations, visual schedules, simplified instructions, repetition, extra processing time, breaks and assistive technology. We discuss accommodations during intake and adjust them as needed.

What are the schedule and fees?

Contact us to discuss current session availability, delivery options and fees. Your schedule and learning priorities are agreed during planning.

Does the program guarantee a job or a credential?

The focus is individualized skill development and employment preparation. Completion may include an Achievement Report describing demonstrated competencies. Employment outcomes and placements are not guaranteed.
